Reinstatement for Fired Goldfame Trade Unionists
ITGLWF affiliate C.CADWU has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Goldfame company regarding outstanding issues following a general strike by Cambodian garment workers in September 2010.
The agreement, aimed at promoting workplace cooperation and industrial relations, includes the reinstatement of 19 trade union leaders and 142 members who were dismissed following the strike.
Efforts are continuing to persuade other factories to follow suit with a view to securing the reinstatement of a further 63 union leaders and 77 terminated workers in 14 factories.
